Nelson’s National Security Silence Continues

Career politician Thomas Nelson launched his campaign over 172 days ago and has yet to release a single statement in response to the many national security disasters that have happened since. We’ve suffered the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, ISIS continues to grow, and rogue nations continue to test our resolve, and yet Nelson remains silent. The need for elected representatives who understand and are willing to proactively tackle these dangerous and complex challenges head-on has never been greater.

In just a two month time period, Mike Gallagher has released nine statements on national security, foreign policy and the dangers facing the United States:

August 3rd               US’ $400 Million Ransom Payment to Iran
August 17th                US Transfer of Guantánamo Detainees
August 18th             Dangerous and Misguided U.S. Policies
August 25th             Thomas Nelson Silent on Foreign Policy
September 7th         US’ $1.7 Billion Ransom Payment to Iran
September 9th         North Korea’s Fifth Nuclear Test
September 16th       Funding of Iranian Terrorists
September 20th       Obama’s Failing Red Lines
September 23rd       US Treasury’s Approval of Aviation Sales to Iran

Mike Gallagher released the following statement in response to his opponent’s silence on the security threats facing our nation:

“I fear my opponent Thomas Nelson is silent because he agrees with the dangerous and failing Clinton-Obama policies that have cost American lives, and continue to endanger our citizens at home and abroad. As a Marine who deployed twice to the Middle East, I understand first-hand the growing threat to our American way of life posed by radical Islamic terrorists and rogue regimes. The voters of Northeast Wisconsin deserve a representative who will fight for them in Congress and protect the homeland from the threats we face.”
